Steam Store Algorithm Has Changed - Now What To Do As A Game Developer

Steam has announced changes in their Steam Algorithm which intends to show customers more relevant and diversified games regardless of how much money they made. But the changes in the algorithm has opposite effect on indie games especially the upcoming titles. Some developers including myself are facing low sales/wishlists since 13th September the changes took effect. What are your thoughts on this one? I don't think we have to worry much because they are looking into issues and fix the bugs. I hope things will get better in the long term for all of us.

Changes in Steam Algorithm Good For Indie Game Developers? - Vlog

Hello everyone,

Steam made changes to the Algorithm and the way how games are shown to the players. However, this changes has created problems for some indie game developers and they have claimed that they have lost 70% of the store traffic and wishlists/sales after the changes are implemented on 12th September, 2019. Since, Valve is looking into the issues we can do nothing but hope that whatever changes happens will be good in the long run.
