Mika's Battle S 2 is a game which is yet to prove its worth!
GOALS: Here are my goals. I will update the data from time to time every month after the launch. I will strike through them as soon as I reach my personal goals. Success is different for different people but for me my goal is realistic and it is priced at $0.99 so that I can test how successful it becomes while using the bundle strategy.
a) Making A Living:
The goal is to make a living creating video games. It is very much
possible because I am from a country(IN) with a low cost of living. I
basically need $300 a month to survive. It does not have to be from one
game but from multiple titles.
b) Marketing: No, I am not going to invest in marketing. I might do some free marketing here and there. I want to see how many copies it sells with $0 marketing budget.
c) Bundles:
This game will be added to the anime bundle for exposure to my previous anime game releases and applying deeper discounts might work for such kind of bundles during the launch period.
Proof that it's a success: In Progress
Milestones:
Review milestone:
Target : 20 Reviews
- Got First review!
- Got 5 reviews!
- Got 10 reviews!
- Got 13 reviews!(Proof that it's a success)
- Got 20 reviews!
Reached 0 out of 20 reviews.
Target Added: 50 Reviews
Reached 0 out of 50 reviews.
Target Added: 100 Reviews
Reached 0 out of 100 reviews.
Net Revenue milestone:
- Made $50 in sales
- Made $300 in sales
- Made $500 in sales
- Made $1000 in sales
- Made $1600 in sales.
Anything above that is anomaly.
Also, I will get back Steam direct fee which I paid after my game makes $1000 in net revenue. That should be my target for now.
F.A.Qs:
Why are you pricing $0.99?
To sell more units at $0.99. I think it will sell 40 copies without bundles, maximum. But with bundle strategy in place, it might sell 50 copies in the first 2 weeks of release. I am gonna follow the path shown by some of my competitors and it seemed to have increased my income to a greater extend.
Will you raise the price and when?
Yes, will raise it on Feb 13 after giving final discount at the price point. I will probably raise the price to $4.99 and then put it at 50% - 75% discount. There is no guarantee that it will get over 10 reviews because sometimes sales to review ratio is 200:1. However, I will test the current price point for the course of few months to a few years.
Does bundle work?
It does. No wonder publishers are using these so effectively. I'm no exception.
What is the timeframe we are looking at?
Until it gets popular and get regular sales.
