How to maintain your motivation in Game Development - Developer Top Tips!

Maintaining your motivation throughout the game development process is very challenging and hard. This is especially true for long-term game development projects which takes years to see the results. The Game Development process is time consuming, sometimes dull and repetitive. There is a strong chance the game developer will lose focus on his work which will eventually lead to the burn out. So, I have been through this process several times in the years of game development. However, I have found some of the ways that help me keep afloat and continue doing what  I love.

I hope the tips given below will be helpful for you if you are going through the burn out stage. You should not feel guilty for not working a few days because taking breaks once in a while is also necessary.

How to deal with Negative Reviews And Criticisms as an Indie Game Developer - Steam Reviews Reaction

Today, I am going to react to Steam Reviews for four of my titles. I have received a lot of hate and I know how to deal with them as I have been doing it for about 4 years. Sometimes, it gets really difficult to respond to reviews and especially to those which are off-topic, hate reviews and trolls. Ignore the haters, trolls because the HATERS GONNA HATE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!

Don't even try to pick a fight with your customers as it might make you look bad and would attract more trolls to your Steam store page. You obviously wouldn't want that to happen, do you?

Using GameGuru To Create Your own 3D Games - Should You Give This Engine A Try? My Thoughts

Today, I am going to discuss about a Game Engine called GameGuru used by a group of game developers for creating 3D games. This engine is good for beginners and to learn basic 3D stuff. Before GameGuru existed, FPS Creator Classic was its predecessor created by the same company and it used to be not that stable. GameGuru is a better engine though. But there are some flaws about it which I have discussed in this video. Feel free to share your opinion if you have ever used this engine to create games.

I have shared some common issues with the engine and games created with this engine in the video below. Watch it carefully.

My Indie Game Steam Launch Episode 6 - The Detailed Discussion

Today, I am discussing about my game, Proxy Air Force, which has recently been launched on Steam. It is a 2D top down Shoot'em up game and my second attempt at creating a game of that genre. I wanted to share how well it is doing and whether players liked it or not. Watch the video to find that out.

Sometimes, trying out a new genre which I have never done can be a very good learning experience. So, this is quite obvious why I gave it a go and I want to make more such titles in the future no matter if it succeeds or fails.

Although I use GameMaker: Studio to create my video games but I do have interest in other Game Engines. This video focuses on the the topic on a superficial level. If you are using Unreal Engine 4 this might be something you find interesting. Don't forget to upgrade when this engine comes out as it seems that it will be a pretty promising end product.

Since the moment Steam has relaxed the rule of sharing Sales data publicly, many game developers started to speak up regarding the money they are making from Steam and bundles.
