Postmortems

 Here I will post about my achievements and failures of Steam game launch! I have failed a lot in the various aspects in my business which I will openly share with the world through this blog. 

Since, the developers are free to share the Steam sales revenue data for their games I would like to share it here too for my new releases. I have a Youtube channel called Devil Chats where I used to post about sales data and I am thinking of creating 1 minute short videos there showing the sales data for my games too as I hardly get time to do so. I am super busy working on multiple titles. I love creating, launching and shipping games and see how well they are doing. It's all about experimentation. When it comes to making videos, I am not that interested to be honest with you.

Now, I am not going to do any kind of external marketing and it's fun to see how my games sells without investing in marketing. I want to keep my company small. Setting little goals and achieving them gives me a sense of accomplishment. I don't want to set an unrealistic goal which I might never reach. That's reality.

Based on the cost of living in my country, India, I have set the goals which will be sufficient enough for living in a country where the cost of living is low. It will not work in first world countries where the cost of living is very high.

"SUCCESS" and "FAILURE" definitions are different for different people based on their goals. For me, I have my own threshold of financial success based on where I live. So, take it with a grain of salt.

POSTMORTEMS:

I will keep each post short and to the point. No unnecessary babbling and stuff which wastes your as well as my time. Remember, this postmortem section not only help you as a developer who is thinking of starting out as an indie game developer or curious about how much developers are making on Steam but will help me to keep a track of what games are working well on Steam at least for me. I will share only 7 days sales data after launch.
